Will I be able to claim the $1200 stimulus via turbo tax filing in 2021 if I never receive the check this year?

Assuming I don't receive the check this year, is it possible to file my year 2020 tax return in 2021 and claim the stimulus money through the tax return? I've read online that an option will show up asking if one has received the stimulus check when filing next year's return. I'm asking because I've had 1 check sent and was lost. I called the IRS and had another check sent. Two months later, still no sign of that 2nd check. I'm starting to wonder if I'm wasting my time. I'm hoping I can get the money via TurboTax filing.

Yes ... if you fail to have a check issued by 1/1/21 then you will be able to apply for the 2020 credit on the 2020 return.

I would be more concerned on why the second check did not show up ... did your address change ?   Did you tell the IRS ?   Call and report the second check also missing.

I called them in June to do a trace and to get a 2nd check out. Get my payment link said it would arrive in late August. Still no check. I recently faxed them a 3911 form this time to do another trace.
