International Study Abroad

I am studying abroad through an accredited school program within my University. The fees were paid to the international school directly and they don't have a Federal Tax ID. I selected "No" for the 1098 question and checked that I have an exception. But it still won't let me progress without a Tax Id. What to do?

You cannot claim the American Opportunity Credit if the school is unable to provide a U.S. Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN or FEIN).  You can still claim the Lifetime Learning Credit if the foreign school is on Dept. of Education (DE)  list.
