I am a student and start community college in 2010, i transferred to a University in 2016, am i eligible for the American Opportunity Credit?

If the Community College that you attended was an Eligible Education Institute, which in most cases is, and you attended one Academic Semester per Tax Year and maintained a Half-Time status as a student, you do not qualify for the American Opportunity Credit. This credit is only applicable for the first Four Years of Post-Secondary Schooling.

Nevertheless there are other Credits and/or deductions that you may qualify for. TurboTax provides a thorough Interview in the Education section to determine which credits and/or deductions you may qualify for. Below is a TurboTax FAQ which explains the options still available to you:
