Does trades School count for the education tax credit ?

Yes, some Trade Schools are eligible for the Education Credit.  If your school issues you a 1098-T form it will be considered an eligible school.  You can also check with the Finance office of the school to verify that they are covered under the IRS regulations to claim the credit.

Eligible educational institution. An eligible educational institution is one that maintains a regular faculty and cur-riculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of students in attendance at the place where it carries on its educational activities.    (From IRS Publication 970)
