Continuing Education Bootcamp

Hello,

My college required me to take a Continuing Education Bootcamp that they were offering before I could be accepted into a Bachelor's Cybersecurity program. Their reasoning for this is because the 2 Associate degrees that I already held were not listed on their list of "pre-approved AAS degrees".

I received my 1098-T for 2021 and it did not include the cost of the bootcamp that I paid for.

Would I be able to claim the bootcamp as an education expense on my 2021 taxes?

Thank you.

Yes.  When you enter your 1098-T the system will ask you for any education expenses not included on the 1098-T.  You will enter the cost of the bootcamp as well as any course materials that you paid for that were not included on the form.
