Maybe.  If you meet all of the other requirements for the American Opportunity Credit and your school is an eligible institution you can claim the credit.

To determine if your school is an eligible school you can check with your school.  You can also look for them in this Department of Education link of accredited schools.   http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/

Another easy way to tell is if your school accepts Federal Financial Aid it is usually an accredited school.
