Can F1 student claim tax returns on 1098T?

No, a F1 visa holder is a non-resident alien and is not eligible for education credits.

What if F1 student had filed tax return claiming 1098T also. Should he/she amend the return? What are the next steps?

But I have already used TurboTax and paid 100 dollars for filing federal and state tax

You must now file an amended return to undo your original return. And refile a non-resident return 1040-NR using Sprintax.

Unfortunately, we cannot refund the fees as you have used the services.

First, an F1 student is a nonresident alien for the first 5 calendar years only. Second, I would call support to request a reffend. Turbotax is not very good in making sure that nonresident aliens know they cannot file using Turbotax and should therefore reffend any fees paid by nonresident aliens IMHO.

Yes, TurboTax is actually minting money by not informing about the same. I will surely ask for a refund. This is very wrong on their part. 100 dollars is not a small amount. I will make sure that I get my money back. It is like a fraud from TurboTax. While filing, I did not get any warning or disclaimer saying that NR aliens can’t file using TurboTax. And now I have to do the whole process all over again.
