Are 529 funds used to purchase a computer for my son in college deductible?

I withdrew 529 funds to purchase a laptop computer for my son's use at college. When I enter this amount in TurboTax in the appropriate field associated with the 1099-Q for that 529 account and click the Continue button, the software immediately clears that field and makes me pay taxes on that amount. How do I deduct the cost of the laptop?
