Where do I enter 1099s for land sale

You enter the sale of land the same as you do sale of second home. TurboTax won't ask specifically for your 1099-S but you will enter the information from it. Follow these steps.

  1. Open your return in TurboTax.
(To do this, sign in to TurboTax and select Take me to my return button.)
  2. In the search box, search for sold second home (use this exact phrase) and then select the "Jump to" link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes on the Did You Sell Any Investments in 2017? screen.
    • If you land on the Here's the investment sales info we have so far screen, select Add More Sales.
  4. Answer No to the 1099-B question.
  5. On the next screen, select Land. Select Continue.
  6. On the "Enter Land Sale Information" screen, you enter the information from your 1099-S.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions. It will ask for cost information and date of purchase.

How do I enter 1099S?  I'm trying to enter a second home sale but the instructions I've see don't work.  It says to enter into search box and JUMP but I don't see that anywhere....

Where do I enter 1099s for land sale

There is no special tax treatment for (or way to report) the sale of land  - it is just an investment.

Report the sale of land in the Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds and Other interview of Investment Income.

When you answer "No" to the question "Did you get a 1099-B?", you are asked if to "Tell us about the sale"  and can "Enter one sale at a time".

The next screen allows you to describe the nature of the asset. To report the sale of land:
