Why does schedule K-1(1040) show I received more money than I actually did?

I have to presume you meant "K-1 (1041)" because there is no "K-1 (1040)".

Regardless, the amount that you must report and is taxable is not necessarily the amount that is distributed to you (i.e., the amount you receive). 

If you believe there is an error, you should contact the trustee directly.
