You can create the forms needed. Log in with the same user name and password as for TurboTax. The new form 1099-NEC is available. Here are the rules to help.
The 1099-NEC is for each person to whom the taxpayer has paid at least $600 during the course of a business for the following.
•Services performed by someone who is not an employee, including parts and materials (box 1),
•Cash payments for fish (or other aquatic life) purchased from anyone engaged in the trade or business of catching fish (box 1), or
•Payments to an attorney for legal services (box 1).
The Form 1099-MISC is for each person to whom the taxpayer has paid the following during the course of a trade or business.
•At least $10 in royalties or broker payments in lieu of dividends or tax-exempt interest,
•At least $600 in rents (box 1), prizes and awards (box 3), other income payments (box 3), the cash paid from a notional principal contract to an individual, partnership, or estate (box 3), any fishing boat proceeds (box 5), medical and health care payments (box 6), crop insurance proceeds (box 9), payments to an attorney (box 10), IRC section 409A deferrals (box 12), or nonqualified deferred compensation (box 14).

Actually, the problem is "to just log in" TTH&B has a bug so that when you click on using quick employer forms, it just sends you to a page to buy the program. There appears to be no way to enter get to quick employer forms even though H&B owners have paid for the privelege.
This is the process that goes in a circle:
1 open TTH7B , go to new file, go to w2 and 1099, then go to online (recommended). then page asks intuit login, then it goes to welcome to TT QEF, then the only button on that page is Buy now???!!!!
never asks my activation code or anything else. So is it that TT does not know I bought the desktop CD from Office depot?
You should see the screen below if you select New Tax Return from the File menu. When you select 1099s/W2s, then click Continue Without Transferring, then Continue, you should see a working link to QEF.
As a clumsy workaround, I have an option that should work for you. Start on Online return using your QEF credentials. Choose to use the Self-Employed version. You are not going to complete this tax return, we are just trying to get you to QEF. Click through all the set up screens. Eventually, you see the TAX HOME option in the left menu. Once you have that option, click on Tax Home and scroll down to Your Account and select Show ^. You should see an option to create 1099 and W-2s. That link will take you to QEF and allow you to actually enter the forms.
It would be really helpful to simply say that the desktop buyers are not allowed to access the online QEF. I will go ahead and file paper forms and take a bit of time to do the filing next year directly on the IRS site. The TurboTax software that I have bee using since the 90's is fine. the 1099 system is way too problematic. I used to buy the employer filing system from intuit separately; at least it worked and didn't cost too much. This has been a very trying experience. Under delivery on your promise.
There are two ways of accessing Quick Employer Forms in the CD/Download version of TurboTax Home & Business:
