turboTax Business 2021 is requesting a California Secretary of State File Number which General Partnerships are not required to have. I have a 9 digit identification number for the general partnership. TurboTax will not validate a 9 digit number and will not transmit the file. dropping the first 2 zeros makes the number a seven digit number and then validates....but...this is ridiculous that this has been an issue for 2 years.
All businesses (since 2015) must file electronically.
I prefer to use the number since using all zeros will confuse the Franchise Tax Board.
Has anyone found a solution?

A TurboTax user was able to file electronically by leaving the field blank.
I tried leaving it blank multiple times, it will not allow me to transmit the file if the field is blank.
I would file the return without the leading zeros to get the return filed. If the State Franchise Board questions it, just explain that this was the only way you are able to file this return in Turbo Tax. Frankly though, I doubt if this will be an issue.
How did you guys end up filing? Did you drop two leading zeros from the 9 digit FTB number, did you leave the field blank or just enter all zeros?
Did you have any trouble with the FTB?
For several years I have e-filed just entering all zeros for the California Secretary of State file (SOS) number, but this year I received FTB Notice 763B – FTB Assigned Identification Number. The number starts with the word TEMP plus a 9 digit number. The notice says to use this number on all California partnership income returns.
