Am I correct that Virginia's Deconformity from the Increased Medial Expense Deduction will result in an addition to 2017 income on VA Schedule ADJ, line 2b?

Thank you, there is a ticket on this already opened and I have added this information to it.

Am I correct that Virginia's Deconformity from the Increased Medial Expense Deduction will result in an addition to 2017 income on VA Schedule ADJ, line 2b?

Hello. I just found out about this tax change and I already filed my Fed and VA state returns. I received my refunds last week. I only noticed when I opened TurboTax and the amount at the top for VA State return was different than the amount I initially filed for and received. When I opened TurboTax Home/Biz it must have updated when the tax change occurred (which was after I filed.) When I look at the forms in TT, it now shows my state return with the new return amount with line item addition for the med. So, I guess what I'm asking is...all of the 'amend' instructions on the TT site don't address when the program has automatically updated my forms and return amount AFTER I have filed. If I do a 'save as' of the file, it's as if the return was filed with the tax change. Thanks for your assistance.

@mtcolombo   I found this on the Va. tax website.  <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.tax.virginia.gov/additions">https://www.tax.virginia.gov/additions</a>
If you have already filed your 2017 Virginia individual income tax return, and claimed a deduction for medical and dental expenses, you will need to amend your return.
