I'm having the same problem as JohnCar from 9-2024. Turbo Tax says it can't e-file Ca form 568 but all the exceptions listed don't apply. I didn't see a resolution to his concern from last year. What is the fix?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If TurboTax determines that CA Form 568 cannot be e-filed, you will need to print, sign, and mail the form with the waiver request found here: California business entity e-file waiver request.
Apportionment or filing Schedule R are the most common reasons for this requirement. Also, TurboTax can e-file only one copy of Form 568, so if you have more than one LLC on your return, one Form 568 will have to be mailed.
Thank you, Patricia, for your time. None of the exceptions listed by Turbo Tax as to the reason for not e-filing apply. this appears to be an ongoing issue this year and last year due to all the comments of people with the same issue. it appears to be a bug in the filing in Turbotax. Can you please address with Turbo tax? As mentioned in the comments, last year's filing went smoothly with the form 568. thank you!
It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2024" file to test this issue further.
If you would be willing to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information, please follow these instructions:
In TurboTax Desktop, open your return and go to Online in the TurboTax header. (On a Mac computer, choose Share or Help.)
In TurboTax Online, open your return, go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
We will then be able to see the same experience you are having. If we are able to determine the cause, we'll reply here and provide you with a resolution.
Thank you for your help. I'm not sure if ours would be the best example of this issue. This is our final return and our LLC has no figures as we decided not to use it so there's no income. We are due a refund for the 800.00 CA business tax so maybe that's the issue. I'll follow up further with the State of California. Maybe someone with the same issue can help. Thank you for your time,
Diana
