it's not whether you have a profit or not. It's whether you got a 1099-S on the sale. over $250K single or $500K if married, you'll need to file Schedule D so the IRS can see there is no taxable profit.
Thank you. So - are you saying that I don’t have to file a Schedule D if my gain were not above that amount?
