I get the following error "disallowed deduction from prior year does not match the total prior year Section 179 carryovers entered in each individual activity" even though the carryover amount on line 9 and the expense deduction on line12  are the same on Form 4562.

I had this problem - Three hours online with support no help.

You are going to hate this answer.

1. find last years list of items that were carried over and the amounts, it should add up to the number in the block.

2. Go to Forms Mode - Click 1065 Depr Opt on left column

3. Click the plus to the left of the number in "Federal Secion 179 Information" items 4a and 4c

4. Enter each item and the carryover amount as applicable.

Sorry I agree this should have autofilled in but this is the only way I could fix and e-file

I tried that by filling in the individual items on Depreciation Options 2019 both lines 4a and 4c so that they match the total. After rerunning the final check it still came up with the same error message.

Groan!

Here's the answer, from turboTax support. The error is showing up in FORMS MODE on the Sec 179 Limit form not on the Form 4562.  If you click on Form 4562 on the left you will see that LINE 10 is not populated with the prior year carryover number.  Populate line 10 and line 12 with your total carryover.  Once you populate these lines the error on the Sec 179 Limit page will go away.
