In TurboTax Online, open your return and follow these steps:
If you received Form 1099-MISC for the Executor Fees, it can be reported as Other Income. If she didn't receive a Form 1099-MISC, it can also be reported as Other Income.
Generally, income from a 1099-MISC form is considered self-employment income, but follow the instructions below to enter the form so it is not included in self-employment income.
1. Open TurboTax and select Wages and Income
2. Scroll down to Other Common Income and select Start/Revisit
5. Enter your 1099-MISC and select Continue
6. Enter Estate Executor Fee for the description and Continue
7. Select None of these apply on the next screen
8. Select only the tax year for this 1099-MISC and Continue
9. Select No, it didn’t involve an intent to earn money and Continue.
