Issuing a 1099-MISC with my EIN instead of SSN
I am an independent contractor and hired a subcontractor with a w9 to do some work for me. I will need to issue a 1099-MISC to that person. I have an EIN associated to my SSN; can I use the EIN number when filing the 1099-MISC to that subcontractor to protect my SSN?
When I file my 1040 and Schedule C; do I have to use my EIN or SSN? The wages I earned as a independent contractor will be associated with my SSN.

If you have an EIN you should use the EIN and not your SSN.
Use the EIN for the 1099-MISC that you issue and also use the EIN for your Schedule C.

Do you mean you do not have a social security number and are filing the 1099-MISC with the EIN on a personal income tax return? You may need to get an ITIN for the personal return.

It's not possible to get an EIN without arleady having either an SSN or ITIN. So if you're being asked for an SSN and you don't have one, you need to enter your ITIN, and not your EIN.
If you don't have either an SSN or ITIN, then you can't work legally in the U.S.
