I sold sports tickets for a profit, do I have to report it as income?

I bought season tickets and then was able to get post season tickets because I had the season tickets.  Would the amount of income that I have to report for the sale of a few of the post season tickets be less the amount of money I spent to get the season tickets and post season tickets?

Technically yes, you are required to report your gain on the sale of the tickets.  Your cost basis would be what you paid for the tickets you sold.  It would not include the cost of your regular season tickets nor would it include the cost of the other post season tickets.
