I am a cpa and a new client gave me their tt file and .t14. How do i open it ?

I am a CPA and  a new customer brought me a file ending in .T14. I am trying to open in 2014 software but it is not working.

Please Help.

Ask the client to get you a PDF instead of the tax file.

I see no reason why a CPA couldn't use a purchased software set to open and examine a Client's file....just so they know what the client supposedly did on an old tax return.  Then use their professional software to do whatever is needed to be done.

Anyhow....that's H&R Block datafile...not TurboTax.

Right.  A self prepared Turbo Tax file ends in .tax2014.  What tt file did they give you?  If they used the Intuit Professional programs (LaCerte or ProSeries) I don't know what those end in.
