I am trying to use TT for a very simple estate. The ONLY income is the sale of a house (less than 100K). There were $8729 in closing cost expenses to sell the condo. There are only 2 beneficiaries. When it asks "how much was distributed to each beneficiary", I have tried to enter 50% of the sale price but that resulted in an error at the end saying that the beneficiaries allocations don't equal 100%. I also tried to subtract the 8729 (divided in half per beneficiary) but get the same error message. I assume it should be 50% of the gross sales price for first tier and then there would be another entry on the K-1 to divide expenses between beneficiaries, but that is not what is happening. The software is stuck and won't let me move on or manually adjust it to move past that error. The K-1s won't complete. I tried calling TT but after an hour of the technician not finding the answer and getting frustrated, she hung up on me. Can someone advise how to resolve this issue?

Are you entering whole numbers? With a 50/50 split of an odd amount, one beneficiary will need to receive a dollar more than the other.
Yes, I was putting in whole numbers. I called TT back and talked to someone else (who didn't hang up on me and who screen -shared). She researched and discovered that there is a known glitch in the software so i am stuck and unable to finalize taxes or complete the K-1s until the software is repaired.
