Thank you Champ....I followed your suggestion and was able to delete the entry from schedule L and once that was done the "red boxes on the form indicating errors " immediately went away. I so appreciate you sharing the thought that led to a solution at the end of a long day trying to figure it out.

There are no liabilities for me to delete, but the smart worksheet still shows a beginning balance of recourse that I cannot edit
You need to change the line on the balance sheet the debt is entered on.
To do this in TurboTax Business you can follow these steps:
I don't see where I can do step 6: On the Enter Your Liabilities and Capital screen you need to change the debt listed to Nonrecourse loans
