help: cannot file because of schedule C error: employee credits for small businesses

Here it is:

My name is Candace with Intuit's Office of the President. We received your inquiry regarding issues with Schedule C in Turbo Tax and I will be your Case Manager while we address your concerns.

We have been notified of the issues with the form and scheduled release difference. Our team is working with the engineers on when this will be released and if it can be expedited.

As soon as I have more information of the expectations of release, I will send the information to you as soon as possible. I do not have a direct phone number, however while we work to assist you, you can reach me by replying to this email thread. Thank you for reaching out to Intuit's Office of the President.

Respectfully,

Candace D.

Office of the President

help: cannot file because of schedule C error: employee credits for small businesses

Hi Candace:

I do not qualify for any special credit. So, you can have the issue fixed by asking questions of the users to see if they qualify for this potential credit that Congress may pass on March 1st. But, again even if it passes, I am not qualified to get it.

So, you are just holding me up from filing by not having more sophisticated software.

Regards,
James Miles

Patricia, thank you for this update. However, since the date has been pushed back, and pushed back, and pushed back, we're struggling with "when is the actual date"! Like me, I'm sure other self employed people have overpaid and are due a significant refund, but our money is tied up and not earning interest. This is not acceptable service.

I have done HandR Block for my taxes, for years... this is the first year I am trying Turbotax.....today it says COME BACK MARCH  5TH AFTER TELLING ME THIS SINCE JAN. 31st. I have never had to wait, guess I will be putting my information into H&R Block because the waiting is insane!

Happy waiting, everyone!

Bad first impression of TurboTax to say the least! 😡

This TT is not the TT I have known.

This is only other example/symptom of Intuits pursuit or profit over customer value.  I was a quicken early adopter, then abandoned after to many SW updates that removed useful features.   Did Quickbooks, but its updates and subscription model  made me bail to a no drama replacement.  Still been using TT since early 2000's, hoping Intuit would not ruin TT.   I expect it is time look for another Tax SW new company with low overhead and intelligent non-greedy officers whose work ethics are aligned to customers like me/us.

This is getting to be some serious BS.  Just opened mine again today to see if I can file yet and now it says its employee credits section expected to be updated on 03/05!!  This is definitely  the last year I'm using anything turbotax related.  I am also using turbotax business to file for my S corp and its delayed as well in the area of general business credits and business returns are due 03/15!  What a sorry excuse for a company.  Oh, another wonderful feature to turbotax business is that not all states are available (which just so happens to be my state)  so I get to do my state return by hand.....thanks a bunch turbotax!  Next year I suggest that everyone look into using Taxact instead.

Well I am happy to know that I am not alone but I am also angry that small business owners and farmers are being jerked around yet again!    I plan to start making phone calls, all day every day until this issue gets corrected!!  It seems like every other tax prep site has their $hit together, time for Turbo Tax to step up and get this issue resolved!!

help: cannot file because of schedule C error: employee credits for small businesses

There's another thread about this same issue: How do I resolve a Check This Entry error on 2023 - Wages Paid Schedule C?

I'm posting on Twitter/X and tagging TT with several messages. I may decide to do it every hour just to be obstinate. They need to respond better than this garbage. I've been using TT for over 10 years for my business and it has NEVER taken this log to file. The date keeps changing and we small business owners are paying the price for their incompetence.

I decided to stop waiting and filed with H&R Block. No issues.

I'm going to continue following this issue with TT and harass them with constant posts until they do something.

Thank you, Candace; however, I dont know what that means as far as the date that TT will have the software updated so that I can finish my taxes.  It is late and concerning and so far just the run around, moving the date ahead each week. How can a filer make a plan on filing by the deadline without TT being succinct?  There are many many hours of data entry and step-by-step that I put into the TT questions, so its too much to start over with another software.

TT is not addressing this professionally and every small business owner in America who uses TT can now not file their taxes!   This not okay and it has NOT been handled with expediency.

I also called and spoke with TT customer service where they kept me on the line for 45 minutes.  At the end of the call, I had asked (prior to seeing these posts) if any other TT customers had asked about the same issue.  Her reply was "no, this is the first Ive seen it, no other customers asked so far."   That was not a proper answer in that it's easy to see the many TT customers who requested that exact same thing ... to update your software!

Also, your email of [email address removed] is broken.   it is the email turbo ... at cm. intuit ...

(your software removes the email on posts) "Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.  <[email address removed]>:

Unable to deliver message after multiple retries, giving up."

Sincerely,
John

Apparently none of the customer service reps or "live agents" have any clue what is going on at Turbo Tax.  I blame TT and not the reps, however, something absolutely needs to be done to get this resolved.  If it weren't so much extra work, I would also head over to H&R block just to get this task off of my plate and move along with trying to run my business.

Well, after 23 years of using tt I filed with H&r Block. AND IT WAS CHEAPER. I would suggest this to you all. I filed 10 min ago and both are accepted already.

I am going to look into H&R as well, however, I'll have to figure out if TT will refund my money, as I already paid.

It depends.  According to Turbo Tax, general business form 3800 will be available on 3/06. There are changes in the Tax Code that needed to be implemented causing a delay in releasing this form.  Turbo Tax may have taken additional time to ensure that your return is filed accurately and that you are able to claim all credits for which you are entitled.

One option I suggest is to file your return and then amend your return once Form 3800 is available.

I put my info exactly the same into H&R block and it all went through fine and the estimated refund was actually greater. I would suggest switching at this point.  I requested a refund as well through my credit card company since TT cannot deliver on time.
