When I attempted to e-file my return March 19th it was rejected in about 5 minutes, "ACTION REQUIRED: Your tax return was rejected by the IRS". The message from TT is: "This return can not currently be processed for e-filing due to entries on 3800 page 9. This return was not e-filed due to a processing error that will be corrected on March 27, 2025. Although TT had reviewed my return, when I examined 3800 page 9, all the years for the credits were the same. I corrected this for sequential years back to 2019 when the credits started and refiled the return. It was also immediately rejected with the same message.
I have a number of questions, none about the credits or 3800. Why the word "currently"? Is something going to change somewhere? At TT or the IRS?
I see "entries" not errors, is this intentional? Entries could refer to words being in a cell needing numbers etc.
"Processing error" means what exactly? Who's error is it, TT or the IRS?
What is magical about March 27? Seems like a long wait with a interest rate ticker running.
Any help may direct me to where to seek a solution.

There are known issues on the IRS side for Form 3800, and there's nothing to do but wait until they clear the processing error. At this point, there is no workaround posted for this issue.
The return was accepted as filed March 29th so they seem to have fixed the problem. I'm sure this will go smoother in the future when they have less staff and a lower budget.
