Hi,
I operate an LLC that I'm planning to shut down this year, which has had no income over the past 4 years and has therefore not filed 1065s. I'm looking to file a final return this year and have not been able to find an answer as to whether 1065s would need to be filed for the years that I did not submit the forms, or if this year's return could be marked as initial and final.
Many Thanks

Yes you may file the FINAL return this year without filing prior years. Since there were years with no income, you do not have to go back to file them.
The LLC must file an informational partnership tax return on tax form 1065 unless it did not receive any income during the year AND did not have any expenses that it will claim as deductions or credits.

Excellent, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you!
