eFile 1099-NEC for 2024 tax year

Using TurboTax Home & Business, I created 1099-NEC for a contractor and mailed a paper copy to the contractor.  At that time, TurboTax would not allow me to eFile the 1099-NEC with the IRS.  How do I get back to the place where I can eFile the 1099 with the IRS and is that still not available in Turbo Tax on 1-20-25?  I need to file by 1-31-25.

If you used the Desktop option to create your Form 1099-NEC in TurboTax Home & Business, you can't e-file your forms. 

Below are steps to print and mail your forms to the IRS.

1. Go to File on your menu bar and select Create 1099/W-2
2. Select Create forms on Desktop
3. You should now see the forms you have already created.
4. You will need to prepare a Form 1096 to attach to your Form 1099s.  Form 1096 is a summary that totals all of your Form 1099s.
5. Form 1096 and Form 1099-NEC must be printed on special scannable pink forms that can be purchased or ordered from the IRS.
6. Here's a link to the IRS mailing addresses for your forms. It can vary.

If you want to file your forms electronically, you can recreate on the Quick Employer Forms.  You may incur an additional fee.
