For independent contractor expenses such as mobile phone, internet, computer equipment, etc. will the Home and Business versions create the Schedule C based on questions or will I still manually need enter into Schedule C form?

Yes it will create Schedule C . In fact All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.
After you enter your personal info, the Home & Business program will take you through your business income under the Business tab. Or you can manually enter directly into the Schedule C form. When or why did you have to manually enter Schedule C ?
Thanks, I've always used the Deluxe version but I don't see (or have not) come across yet which questions would trigger the generation of a Schedule C for deductions.
In the Home & Business Desktop version, Fill out Schedule C here
The Business tab
I'll choose what I work on
Business Income and Expenses
Then….
Profit or Loss from Business, click Start or Update
For lower Desktop versions
Enter it under…..
Federal Taxes Tab
Wages & Income
Choose Jump to Full List -or I'll choose what I work on
Then scroll way down to Business Items
Business Income and Expenses - Click the Start or Update button
