I'm having the same issue. How did you resolve this?
If you know what is generating the foreign tax credit, go to that screen and delete the amount entered. For example, it may coming from a k-1 or 1099Div. Look for it and remove that amount. Then delete the 1116 if it is still there..
Make sure the input causing it has already been deleted. Then go back to that screen where you had the entry, and re-enter foreign tax paid amount. See if the diagnostic is still there.
