Can't do online updates of TurboTax Business 2018

Can you be more precise (provide more details) regarding what issue you are experiencing with updating?

I have 2018 TurboTax Business installed on one of my machines and the update feature is working properly, although the program reports that there are no updates available (since I have to latest revision).

Somewhere I missed the way to add a message- sorry.

I recently purchased an online version of TurboTax Business 2018 from Ebay. I need to prepare a 1041 for a testamentary trust next year (for 2019), which in the past has been prepared by a CPA. My intent is to verify that TT Business can handle my specific case by comparing the CPA's result to the 2018 1041 generated by TT Business using the same inputs. TT Business 2018 downloaded and started normally, but won't let me do online updates. I get an error 42016 "Unexpected content received". I definitely am online and I have disabled my antivirus program.  No help from "Check for solutions". Any clues?

each year stands on its own. you purchased the 2018 version which is only good for producing a 2018 return.  once installed you can use the menu to check for updates.   note however that the software is useless for preparing a 2019 return. you will have to buy the 2019 software.   you have bought the software form an unauthorized source.  there is no guarantee that it doesn't contain malware. not saying it does.   but know that  some sellers of TT software sell counterfeit versions some containing malware so  be wary.
