Business Expense Deduction

I run my business on a cash accounting basis.  As a result of a problem with the mail, I did not receive my property tax bill until after Christmas in 2018.  The payment was due in October.  I paid it in January 2019.  Is the amount deductible (as a business vehicle expense) on the 2018 return or must I wait until I file 2019?  (I suspect I know the answer but I thought I would check nevertheless.)

Business Expense Deduction

Your "suspected" answer is correct.

Cash basis means the expense must have been paid in your 2018 business year, which I assume is a calendar year.
