Are my federal and state returns separate amounts I will receive

I received 1300$ in federal return and 300$ state return, does that mean the total return is 1600$ or is that included in my federal and will only receive one return of 1300

Yes, they are separate amounts.  If you have both a Federal and a state refund, you can add these together to determine your total refund.

Note: These amounts are paid separately and at different times.
