When to amend? I filed form 1040A and income got put in wrong place because I got letter asking for W2's. Im self emplyeed paid in cash or sometimes check.

  I made the corrections to my return. I just wasnt sure if I send the amended return now, or wait until they finish processing my original return and then send?

You would need to wait until your return says "ACCEPTED" once it has you can start and mail your amendment.
