I need to amend my tax return and refile so that someone can claim me as a dependent. Where can I go to do this?

You cannot re-e-file are return if it has been accepted.  Amended return must be mailed.  After you start the amendment interview click on the Personal Info tab, click Edit by your name. Check the box that someone else can claim you on their tax return. An amended return can take 8 to 16 weeks to process, the other person may want to mail in their return to claim you.

You can track the status of your Federal amended return using the IRS website “Where's My Amended Return” or you can call 1-866-464-2050, (You need to wait about 3 weeks from the date you mailed your amended return for information to show up in their system).
