I want to amend my 2016 return filed online but I don't see the 'Amend(change) 2016 return' option under my Tax Timeline as suggested in the instructions?

When I try to click on Amend my return' under 2016 taxes, it gives me the following message: 

It looks like you missed the deadline to add a state or amend your return online using TurboTax.

But don't worry! We can still help you amend a return or add a state on your desktop. Downloading the software or getting it on a CD is an easy way to fix your return using TurboTax software.

You can download the 2016 amendment software for Windows at the following link.

You will also need the .tax2016 data file for your online tax return. As soon as you sign in to your TurboTax Online account you should see a link that says "Download your .tax file." If you don't see that, the instructions in the following FAQ should work.
