If your bank account number is incorrect and you are due a refund, call 1- 800–829–1954. The IRS will attempt to correct the error, but you may have to follow up with the bank if your refund was deposited into another bank account. If you were making an electronic tax payment, call 1-888-353-4537 to correct the error.
If you cannot change the account number, you will be automatically switched to receiving a check in the mail for your refund, once the bank rejects your deposit.

Hello,
I just realized that my direct deposit information was automatically filled in by turbo tax. My refund along with my stimulus went to some Green Dot Bank in Pasedena California. I did not fill that information as I receive a debit card for my refunds. Is this is a scam? On phone with the IRS now...

For a few taxpayers, the IRS has had an issue processing Economic Impact Payment 3s, reissuing payments back to the same account that rejected the payment initially. For our customers, they would have noticed their payment being sent to an account that was rejected. Instead of updating account information or issuing a check the IRS attempted a second deposit to the same account that was rejected during the first attempt. For customers impacted by this issue, please be assured the IRS will mail a check within 14 days to the address on file for the most recent tax return.
Continue to use the IRS Get My Payment to track your stimulus. And for more information about the stimulus payments see the article below.
