Hi, not sure what to do. I have been trying to call the irs to change my address but since it is extremely busy wait times it hangs up my call. I filed my taxes for this year 2021 and accidentally put one number off on my address. The address listed on the tax return is not a valid address. I didn’t do direct deposit either. What do i do to ensure my tax return gets mailed to the correct address?

For this, you will need to reach out to the IRS directly. The below might get you to an agent faster.
IRS
IRS: 800-829-1040
Hours: 7 AM - 7 PM, local time
Monday-Friday
Thanks! I have been trying to call but it just keeps saying due to high volumes of calls it hangs up and tells me to call at another time or business day. Any tips on getting a hold of a real person?
The steps provided above by @HeatherPLO are the best way to reach someone at the IRS. You might want to try early in the morning before their hold queue begins to fill up.
Would filing a form 8822 help at all in ensuring it the refund check is sent to the right address?
Sending in form 8822 may help if the IRS gets the form before issuing your refund. It's also good to do an address change for any notices that the IRS may send you in relation to your refund.
