Will the IRS hold my refund this year if im being audited from 2015?

Today i received a notice that my 2015 taxes are being audited, the need my proof of schedule c net profit. the notice just says they need more info. im more then willing to comply, but im currently waiting for this years return to be approved( its already been filed and accepted). will the audit delay my refund?

No, the IRS won't delay your refund because they are auditing a prior year tax return. At this point, no additional tax has been assessed for 2015, and the IRS only offsets refunds to pay for taxes that have already been assessed.

if they wont delay my refund i wonder why my status hasnt changed from accepted to apporved. the date on the audit letter is march 12 and i filed on march 14, but i didnt get the letter in the mail until march 19. would that make any diffrence since i filed after they chose to audit me?

Hi I was audit for 2020 and I still haven’t received my 2021 refund can they hold that years tax refund to I have been very responsive with the Irs

your 2021 tax return is probably on hold with code 570 "additional account action pending".
