if your return is accepted the answer is no. you would need to file an amended return.
If you have already efiled, you have to wait and see what the IRS does when they open up for processing later this month. If the IRS rejects the efiled return, then you can make any changes you want and resubmit it. If the return is accepted, however, then as @ Mike9241 said, then the only way to change an accepted return is to later submit an amended return.
In the meantime, don't make any changes in your return. Wait until the IRS either accepts or rejects the return to know what you need to do. The IRS opens up January 27 for processing of returns, and most people will find out soon after that if their return was accepted or rejected. A few returns are pulled and processed early before then for testing purposes.
