You are using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download edition so there is no cost to e-file a federal tax return. There is an e-file fee of $25 to e-file a state tax return but that cost can be avoided by printing and mailing the state tax return.
Use this procedure to get the Filing Instructions page -
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2022 online tax return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
Sorry, but this in the TurboTax application running on my Mac. I don't see any options for selecting the what to print.
OK...Thanks. Saw the icon on your post and it indicated TurboTax online. That is why I answered for the online edition.
In the File section of the program on Print/Save for your records, select Save a PDF. On the following screen select All official forms for filing. The Filing Instructions page should be listed.
Or -
Click on Forms at the top of the desktop program screen
When in Forms mode, on the left side of the screen there will be Filing Inst listed. Click to Open
Sorry for the category. I used the AI and this is where my question was placed. The instructions are not showing anywhere. I've looked in both locations that you suggested, but not finding them. When I print everything for filing, the state instructions print, but nothing for the federal.
I will give a couple of screenshots. However, I am using the TurboTax Premier edition for Windows, so this may be slightly different for the Mac version.
File section to Save a PDF -
In Forms mode -
Not showing in the Mac TurboTax Home & Business edition. Here are my screen shots.
Thanks for the screenshots. Well, that is really unusual. You should have a Federal Filing Instructions page, either using Windows or a Mac.
I will forward this thread to the TurboTax Moderators of this forum for review. There is no guarantee that the programmers will get this fixed for the 2022 editions, but it is worth a try.
All I need right now is to know what the instructions are. Would someone from Intuit be able to send me the instructions?
If you are e-filing your federal tax return then all the Federal Filing Instructions would have is how you selected to receive the tax refund or if taxes were owe how you selected to pay the taxes owed. (Bank routing and account numbers and if taxes owed the date selected to pay the taxes)
There is also a short Federal Tax Return Summary which shows -
Adjusted Gross Income
Taxable Income
Total Tax
Total Payments/Credits
Amount to be Refunded or Taxes Due
Effective Tax Rate
I'm not e-filing. Not enough of a return to offset the cost. I'm printing so that I can send the return via mail.

I’m experiencing the same problem! 3 weeks later and no updates have solved this. Is TurboTax ignoring this issue?
If you are having trouble printing the instructions after following the suggestions in this thread, please click here to give us a call so we can look into this. @JessK3
Currently still having this issue if someone could please assist. I've tried the phone number several times and the call ends with someone saying it'll get escalated and it's been a week and a half and I've heard nothing and still have the issue
