Why is SBTPG holding refunds?

Hi so I got a deposit from SBTPG funds but I’m still owed 1200$ of a refund I will still get that correct ?

Yes u can contact them. I have called a million times lol just be patient, call the number enter the info they ask and then after wait and don’t do anything even when they ask. Then it will ask to speak to a rep press 4. Do that. It will ring then it will ask to have them call back press 1. Do that and then it was ask if the number you are calling from is the number to call back and press 1. It may take hours but they will call you back. Hope this helps

If you used Refund Transfer, in this public forum, we do not have access to any information regarding refund processing. It would be necessary to try contacting TPG again for additional information. They are one who handles your refund if you elected to pay your fees with your refund. You can also check out this TPG Help Article to check on your refund.

we have already stated plenty of times that’s useless. 

the hope is that Turbo tax will actually take some action and find out why they’re getting so many complaints due to their intermediary bank having terrible business practices.

Turbo Tax is the company we used, not Santa Barbara Tax products group. There is no reason we should have to deal with the stress of multiple hours on hold to get zero answers and zero actions taken

I have done that. And I get multiple different dates, even a lady that said I guess if you don’t get it then it’s just lost in the mail then laughed. It’s so unprofessional and very frustrating. Even when I have called Turbo tax they have no idea about anything that has to do with SBTPG. Even said they shouldn’t be sending me a check that bank should be sending it back to the IRS and then the IRS should be sending me a check. So it seems no one has answers not even the bank that has so many peoples money. I wouldn’t be so pissed if someone would just give me a legit answer. Even if they said about 4 weeks. And maybe even an email. I would have never knew my refund was sent back if I didn’t realize it because I have not been contacted by anyone

And for the IRS to say it’s out of their hands because SBTPG has the payment is insane to me. Cancel the payment sent to them and then send a check or ask for the correct information. We have all this technology now why can’t anything be done?

The irs did their job. They can’t just take the money back.

Just spoke to someone at TurboTax. Was told that either my bank, or the IRS has my money, that there is no other party involved. I told her she was misinformed, but hung up. She had no desire to help me.

They should be able to do something lol they take out money every day lol there is a loop hole they just don’t want to take the time to do it. If a bank can cancel a check then so can the IRS. But I’m just praying the SBTPG actually has their **bleep** together and is sending checks or depositing money to us all.
