Why hasn't my state taxes been filed yet but my federal tax was accepted

I filed for federal taxes and state but my state didn't go through why

Lots of  federal and/or state forms are not ready yet.   You have to e-file your federal return first, and then your state.  The state will not accept a return until the IRS has accepted your federal return. The IRS begins to accept returns on January 23.  If you are waiting for federal forms you will also have to wait to file your state.
