The IRS officially opens on January 27. On or after that date your tax return will either be accepted or rejected. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

They rejected saying the AGI is different for my husband that passed away.

This is an issue we're seeing with those filing a return that includes a deceased spouse. It is possible that the Social Security Administration has blocked your husband's social security number, preventing successful e-filing of your return.
