When can I expect refunds when I have filed an extension and amended returns?

I filed extension for fed and state tax with direct withdrawals from my bank. I also filed a final amended return later with secondary withdrawals from bank. When can I expect refund of excess payments?

It's confusing what you did.  You filed an extension with tax due payments?
Then filed the original 1040 return and paid the tax due again?
They do not take withdrawals from the bank for an amended return.  What did you amend for?

if you filed amended too soon after filing originals it could take months for you to receive the refunds.  but i don't understand how there could be overpayments if you filed amended returns because they would show net balance due if prepared correctly.
