What's taking my refund so long? I have code 1541 on IRS site.

So far I have not been asked for anything but I feel like calling for TA today and I know I won’t qualify for one but I was told that they tell you more information about your tax return then the IRS customer service agent

They do tell u more but unless u can provide proof of hardship they won’t approve. I wanted to try as well but I’m not losing stuff so I know they won’t do it.

I’m just gonna check every few days and go from their. Nothing else we can do. Wait and hope it don’t take the whole crappy 45 days. And for that extra 60. I think that’s for people doing an audit or their taxes r jacked and they got caught up on something

I want to call to see if they could give me any additional info besides what I already know even though they can’t help me. People are getting info off of them even though they don’t qualify. I’m desperate

I’m also desperate but I know it’s like a 3hrs phone call or wait time. From what people were saying and then u have to wait for them to call u back which usually takes a few days. Just from what I saw online an heard from others. U can always try. Me I’m just gonna wait. It sucks but I’m tired of calling an being put on hold for hrs to get the same answer

So ya my transcript said letter sent March 4th and I got it on the 5th just so u get an idea of when u will get yours. They are pretty accurate on the date on transcripts

I’ve gotten a LTR 2645C today in the mail. Basically says we’re working on your account and we need an additional 60 days to send you a complete response on what action we are taking on your account. We don’t need any further info from you at this point.
I filed 1/15
Accepted 1/22
Went to processing 1/28
Went to 1541 status 2/8
Back to processing 3/1
Have gotten a letter dated 3/4 stating need 45 days blah blah blah
Now this letter needing additional 60 days
No idea what to do at this point so thoroughly aggravated

Ok so i field my Income tax on 01/26/2019. The IRS got it on 01/29/2019. It showed status refund with bars as received. 3-5 day later it switched to delayed. Nearly 4 weeks later I called and the rep told me that they'd sent me a letter which at the moment i never received and the rep told me that the letter was requesting me to send over a copy of my SSN to their fax number. So i did that right away. After that 1 week after that i finally got the letter Which is Notice CP05 basically saying there's nothing else i could do from my end but just wait for them if they need to inquire more info. Today after almost 2 weeks waiting i just literally got off the phone with the them and now they just finished telling me that they sent out another **bleep** letter requesting more info about either my Child credit claim or my w2 she couldn't specify what in specific they freaking need. I'am so frustrated at this point. Everyone i know personally has gotten their return with no issued and im here waiting

The transcript shows you certain codes .. like the ones that are delaying things are the 971 and 570 codes. If u check it daily for a 847/ 826 code or something like that( forgot exact numbers), it means refund is being sent .

@Palex I can’t see my transcripts online. I don’t have any credit cards or loans. On my transcript it did show 971 and 570 but both with $0.00 next to them

@Candyqueen I bet they want a copy of birth certificate or ssn. I can prolly guarantee it idk what else they could want from a child
