What is process when we owe taxes?

We owe the state (CA) and when we filed via Turbo Tax software we included our payment info, routing and payment date.  However, we just received a letter from our state saying we owe taxes and their payment info.  Nothing mentioned about it being withdrawn on the date we had on our tax return.    

Will the CA state honor the info we placed on our return and do an electronic payment on the date we specified?

Please contact FTB for payment inquiries.  Once your return has been accepted, TurboTax is no longer notified about the status of your return.

Your tax is not due until April 15, so why are you getting a letter now?.

It sounds like a scam.
