A processing error occurred during the second round of Economic Impact Payments (“stimulus checks”). This is causing some delays in payments.
Some issues may not be able to be resolved before the January 15 deadline. Customers who do not receive payment by this date can claim the payment as a credit on their 2020 tax return. In TurboTax, customers will indicate that they did not receive the payment in the section "Federal Review".
We are aware that a number of our customers were affected by this error and we have been working with the IRS as they attempt to resolve this issue, ensuring that information on file for all TurboTax customers is accurate. We expect some affected customers to receive payments within the next few days.
