Essentially the government can only see the information provided when you established a Healthcare plan through the Healthcare Marketplace, a Private Provider or a Government Sponsored Plan. At the end of the year the Marketplace will provide form 1095-A, Government Sponsored and/or Private Marketplace Agencies provide form 1095-B, and Employer Established Plans will provide form 1095-C. The information on these forms, regarding you or anyone enrolled (dependents), will be provided to the IRS in order to cross-reference and confirm the information that you state on your Tax Return about your Healthcare Coverage throughout the Tax Year. Your income and Dependents are visible to these agencies as these are parameters that are necessary to determine your Individual Shared Responsibility.
