What happens if you amended your tax return before receiving refund????

Hey, I've completed my taxes myself through turbotax but I failed to report unemployment information. I've started my 2020 tax return on Feb 22nd !! Amended the Return the SAME DAY !!! 03/26 my 1040x form was ready to correct changes ! by the time I tried to file my amended return .. Its not allowing me too ! because the IRS has to make updated changes for amended returns including unemployment . HOW LONG AM I GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT NOW ? I've Tried getting on the phone with the IRS ! My momma said I can't amend my taxes until i receive my federal return...  I wasn't aware !

We do not have an exact date of when you will be able to file the amended tax return. You can sign up for updates here to be notified when the form will be available. Once we have more information on when and how to file your amended return you will also be notified.

Isn't it strange the TurboTax can't get together with IRS to figure it out,

but other tax software providers are e-Filing 1040-X and getting ACCEPTED right away.

Yes that’s very strange and delays the process even further honestly.
