You can check on the status of the first two stimulus payments by visiting the IRS View Your Account Information to see if they were issued.

The first two Recovery Rebate credits were claimed on the 2020 tax return. If you did not file a 2020 return, you can file one now. If you did file a return and did not request to receive the first two payments, you can file an amended 1040X for the 2020 tax year to claim the payments.
