Toward the end of 2018, I paid $2,000 in estimated taxes, but accidentally made it for 2019. My 2018 taxes were adjusted with the money taken off my return. Makes sense. I can just apply that $2,000 to 2019.
Doing taxes now for 2019. Include this in my taxes. Didn’t get this money accounted for. I look at my transcripts.
My 2019 transcript shows this $2,000 taken off 2019. My 2018 transcript shows it was included in 2018, BUT, refunded back to me. Then, 10 days later, “740 undelivered refund returned to IRS.”
Now, it shows that $2,000 was refunded to me AGAIN on 5-1-20, but I don’t have it yet. Meanwhile, I received a small 2019 tax return already.
What are my options here? Thank you for the help!
